ANN RUSSELL

The office of the Register of Deeds records various types of legal instruments and transactions. Among the most common are Warranty Deeds, Trust Deeds, Releases, Plat Maps, Powers of Attorney, Charters, Military Discharges, Affidavits, Affidavits of Affixation, Heirship Deeds, Assignments, Bonds, Declarations of Trust, Decrees, Easements, Federal Liens, Fixture Filings, Foreclosure Notices, Greenbelts, Judgements, Leases, Liens, Land Sale Contracts, Notices of Completion, Orders, Quit Claim Deeds, Restrictions, Right of Ways, State Tax Liens, Subordination Agreements, Appointments of Substitute Trustee, Last Will and Testaments.

The Register’s Office is a recording office only. Office personnel are not allowed to provide legal advice and therefore cannot advise you on the preparation of documents. Because incorrectly prepared documents may affect your property rights, we strongly recommend that you seek the services of an attorney or real estate professional to ensure that documents are completed and filed correctly.

By signing up for fraud alerts, property owners will be notified immediately by email if any documents are filed or other transactions occur under their name or business. If documents are filed under multiple names, please submit an email for each name. If you receive an email informing you of a transaction regarding a mortgage, please contact your bank.
